Arch Manning, the University of Texas quarterback, is the nephew of former NFL stars Peyton and Eli Manning, with Eli mentioning in a September 2024 interview that he has always supported and advised his nephew. Arch has been making headlines for his football talents, particularly his speed, since his redshirt freshman season started in September 2024. He recently made his first start as quarterback and impressed with his skills, throwing 223 yards and completing four touchdowns.

During a game against the University of Texas at San Antonio, Arch stepped in for Longhorns’ quarterback Quinn Ewers and showcased his speed on the field. Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian praised Arch for his performance and ability to handle the pressure of playing in front of 105,000 people. Arch’s father, Cooper Manning, the eldest brother of Eli and Peyton, along with his wife Ellen Heidingsfelder, have two other children, May Manning and Heid Manning.

Arch was named after his grandfather, Archie Manning, a former NFL player who played for the New Orleans Saints for 14 seasons. There is a clear indication that Arch inherited his speed from his mother’s side of the family, as confirmed by his dad, Cooper Manning, in a recent Instagram post. Arch was also featured in a video playing a video game with Uncle Eli, where they joked about Eli being Arch’s coach in the game, showcasing a fun and supportive family dynamic.

Arch is currently studying Communication and Leadership at the University of Texas, according to his player profile. Despite only appearing in two games during the 2023 season, his redshirt freshman season in 2024 has been more impressive, earning him accolades such as SEC Co-Freshman of the Week, Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week, and a spot on the Davey O’Brien Great 8 list for his performance against UTSA on September 16. His football career is off to a promising start, and he continues to demonstrate his skills and potential on the field.
