The popular pooch Babydog Justice, owned by West Virginia Senator Jim Justice, made a visit to Capitol Hill that garnered bipartisan attention and goodwill among senators. Babydog, an English bulldog, was rolled through the Senate chambers in a soft-sided wagon and was met with appreciation from senators across the political spectrum. Photos of Babydog with both Republican and Democratic senators were shared on social media, with one commentator humorously proclaiming her as the “real senate majority leader.” Senator Jon Hustsed of Ohio also posted a photo of the lovable pooch, showcasing the bipartisan support for Babydog.

Senator Justice mentioned that Babydog is delighted to receive pets from anyone, regardless of political affiliation, especially if treats are involved. He shared that Babydog loves coming to the Senate floor and interacting with senators, suggesting jokingly that she might help in moderating spending discussions. Senator Justice believes that Babydog, as “Senator No. 101,” is the most popular member of Congress among both Republicans and Democrats due to her charming and bipartisan nature. Babydog gained national attention last year at the Republican National Convention and remains a supportive sidekick to Senator Justice on his political journey.

Babydog’s official X account bio reveals her favorite things, including her owner Senator Jim Justice, Wendy’s nuggets, riding in her dad’s Suburban, and napping. Senator Justice successfully flipped his seat for the GOP after receiving a key endorsement from former President Donald Trump. He won 68.8% of the vote after Democratic Senator Joe Manchin announced he would not seek reelection. Babydog has been a consistent presence on the campaign trail with her dad and continues to show her support for him now that he is serving in the Senate.

Overall, Babydog’s visit to Capitol Hill showcased the ability of pets to foster bipartisanship and goodwill among politicians. Her charming and non-partisan nature received widespread appreciation from senators, with many sharing photos and posts about their interactions with the lovable pooch. Babydog’s presence provided a light-hearted and humorous moment in the midst of serious political discussions and negotiations. Senator Jim Justice and Babydog’s influential and beloved presence highlight the importance of pets in humanizing and bridging gaps in the political arena. Through her bipartisan appeal, Babydog has become a symbol of unity and friendship in a divided political landscape.
