Trump to Decide on Iran Within Two Weeks Amidst Negotiation Prospects, Says Leavitt

In recent statements, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt disclosed President Donald Trump’s plans regarding U.S. involvement in the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. Leavitt indicated that Trump intends to make a decision within the next two weeks, citing the potential for negotiations with Iran. She mentioned that the president’s stance has been clear: after a warning period, Israel’s military response to Iran was justified as negotiations failed to materialize. This statement comes against a backdrop of rising tensions and military escalations in the region.

Leavitt pointed out that there have been multiple rounds of negotiations between Iran and the U.S., emphasizing that discussions continue, albeit without revealing specific details about these talks. When pressed about the possibility of military action, she reiterated that Trump will determine whether to engage militarily in the coming weeks. This declaration has raised questions about the reliability of his timeline, especially given historical delays in similar scenarios. Leavitt defended the urgency, claiming that the current conflict differs significantly from previous global issues.

Highlighting a significant concern, Leavitt warned that Iran is perilously close to acquiring nuclear capabilities. She stated that they are just weeks away from having a nuclear weapon, contingent only upon a decision from their Supreme Leader. This assertion underscores the administration’s commitment to preventing Iran from achieving nuclear armament, which is viewed as a direct threat to both the United States and its allies, particularly Israel.

Alongside these warnings, Leavitt clarified that the administration prioritizes both countering Iran’s nuclear ambitions and promoting stability in the Middle East. Trump has articulated his perspective on the unfolding situation but left many details vague, suggesting a potential for military action while simultaneously advocating for a diplomatic resolution. His recent comments reiterate an aggressive posture—he has urged Iran to negotiate or face severe military consequences.

The situation escalated further on a recent Friday, when Israel launched a significant attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, as well as high-ranking military officials. In retaliation, Iran has targeted various locations in Israel, including the Soroka Hospital, which resulted in numerous injuries. Israeli officials condemned Iran’s actions as tantamount to war crimes, asserting that such attacks will not go unanswered.

As the military responses intensify, both countries continue to exchange blows, drawing the U.S. into a pivotal role. The potential for broader conflict looms large, making the impending decisions by the Trump administration critical for both domestic and international stability. Amidst this turmoil, the hope for diplomatic solutions remains tenuous, overshadowed by fears of escalating violence and regional instability.
