House Committee Claims Biden Administration Funded Anti-Government Protests in Israel

The Biden-Harris administration faces accusations of misappropriating taxpayer funds to support protests in Israel against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before October 7. The House Judiciary Committee has released a memo detailing allegations that the administration provided grants to organizations that played a role in protests related to judicial reforms aimed at undermining the Israeli government. The memo suggests that these funds directly and indirectly contributed to movements opposing Netanyahu, prompting him to criticize what he termed “massive foreign intervention” intended to destabilize his right-leaning government.

In March, the House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs committees issued inquiries to six American and Israeli NGOs, requesting documentation about grants or other financial awards from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the State Department. These organizations—Blue White Future, Movement for Quality Government in Israel, PEF Israel Endowment Funds, Jewish Communal Fund, Middle East Peace Dialogue Network, and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors—have so far provided a total of 380 documents for review. The memo raises questions not only about the financial trails but also about the legitimacy of funding aimed at protests perceived as anti-government.

Prior to October 7, Israel was already deep in internal disputes over judicial reforms, leading to extensive protests across the country. During this tumultuous period, President Biden openly criticized those reforms and expressed support for the protests. His comments, captured in media reports, indicate a concern for the political direction of Israel, aligning with the memo’s assertions that U.S. engagement sought to influence Israeli politics at a critical juncture.

The investigations reveal that Blue White Future allegedly received funding from NGOs, including some grant recipients from the U.S., to help establish the headquarters for protests. Additionally, the committee claims that the administration allocated $42,000 to the Movement for Quality Government to carry out activism training in Israeli high schools—activities that raise further questions about the appropriateness of such expenditures from U.S. taxpayer dollars.

The PEF Israel Endowment Funds reportedly funneled over $884 million to groups involved in the protests against Netanyahu’s government, while the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors are accused of potentially channeling parts of its $20 million in federal grants to similar anti-government activities. Furthermore, the committee scrutinizes whether the Middle East Peace Dialogue Network violated its 501(c)(3) status due to its involvement in funding these protests. The Jewish Communal Fund is alleged to have contributed more than $42.8 million to the protest headquarters and key funders.

As the inquiry progresses, the memo indicates that more American and Israeli NGOs will likely be added to the investigation. Fox News Digital attempted to contact the six NGOs highlighted in the memo but received no responses prior to publication. The ongoing investigation may uncover deeper insights into the financial dealings and U.S. influence on Israeli politics, spurring further debate about the role of external funding in domestic protests and governance.
