The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall of over 110,000 Paris Hilton Mini Beauty Fridges due to safety concerns. This decision comes in light of at least 27 reports detailing overheating incidents that resulted in fires. The primary defect lies within the electrical switch of the fridges, which can malfunction, leading to unsafe overheating conditions. Imported by Epoca International, a company based in Boca Raton, Florida, these beauty appliances were manufactured in China.
Affected models include both 4-liter and 10-liter versions of the Paris Hilton Mini Beauty Fridge, available in various colors. Notably, all units produced prior to August 2024 are included in the recall. Retail outlets such as Walmart and Ross, along with online platforms like Amazon, began selling these products from November 2022 until July 2025, highlighting their widespread availability to consumers.
The CPSC strongly advises anyone in possession of these fridges to cease use immediately and unplug them from power sources to mitigate potential hazards. To facilitate consumer safety, the agency has outlined specific steps for obtaining refunds. Customers will need to visit Epoca’s recall website and provide proof of purchase, along with photos of the affected fridge, model and serial numbers, and a cut power cord. This process underscores Epoca’s commitment to ensuring consumer safety and satisfaction as they issue full refunds for the recalled products.
Among the specific models affected, the larger 10-liter units include model numbers PH11887 in pink and PH11887-1 in white, both of which must contain serial numbers that start with 2024. Meanwhile, the 4-liter models encompass four distinct colors, including aqua, hot pink, pink, and white, each with serial numbers ranging from 202206 to 202406. Consumers can locate the necessary model and serial information on the labels found at the back or bottom of their fridges.
Despite the gravity of the situation, neither Epoca nor Paris Hilton has responded to inquiries regarding the recall, leaving consumers eager for additional information. This recall action stems from continued reports about the risks posed by the appliances, with the CPSC confirming a series of incidents where the fridges overheated, exacerbating fire safety concerns. The compact units were pitched primarily as countertop “beauty fridges,” tailored for storing cosmetics and skincare products.
In light of the potential dangers, consumers are encouraged to reach out to Epoca International directly for further assistance, utilizing either phone support or the dedicated recall page on their website, which offers detailed instructions for the recall process. The CPSC’s emphasis on the inherent fire and burn hazards associated with continued use of these fridges serves as a crucial reminder for consumers to prioritize safety over convenience in their skincare habits.
