Beyoncé Knowles, the multi-talented musician and entrepreneur, has recently announced her entry into the world of country music with the launch of a new whiskey brand called “SirDavis” under the LVMH empire. The announcement was made on Instagram, where Beyoncé shared a photo of herself holding a glass of the dark liquid with the caption “DAVIS IN MY BONES.” The brand’s logo features the famous horse Reneigh, who was also seen on the cover of Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” album. A trademark application for the brand was filed by Moët Hennessy, a subsidiary of LVMH, in June with the tagline “The future of whisky is here.”
With an estimated net worth of $760 million as of May, Beyoncé’s move into the whiskey business could bring her closer to joining the billionaire club, especially if the brand performs well. Beyoncé’s stake in SirDavis was not immediately known, and representatives for both Beyoncé and LVMH have not yet provided further details. The pricing for a 750ml bottle of SirDavis is set at $89.99, with bottles expected to ship as early as September.
Celebrity-owned alcohol brands have proven to be lucrative ventures in the past, with Jay Z, Beyoncé’s husband, selling half of his luxury champagne brand Ace of Spades to LVMH in 2021 and a majority of his stake in D’ussé Cognac to Bacardi for a combined total of over $1 billion. Other celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds, George Clooney, and Diddy have also seen success in the alcohol industry with their respective brands. Beyoncé’s entry into the whiskey market puts her in the company of other musicians who have launched their own whiskey brands, such as Daris Rucker, Tyler Hubbard, Brian Kelley, John Rich, Jason Aldean, and Willie Nelson.
Beyoncé’s current net worth of $760 million places her as one of America’s wealthiest self-made women, while her husband Jay Z’s net worth is estimated at $2.5 billion, making him the 1,331st richest person in the world. LVMH, the conglomerate under which Beyoncé’s SirDavis whiskey brand falls, boasts a portfolio of luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Moët & Chandon, Tiffany, Dior, and Sephora among others. The chairman of LVMH, Bernard Arnault, has a net worth of $189.1 billion, making him the third richest person in the world. Beyoncé’s entrepreneurial endeavors, including her music career, Ivy Park clothing line, and now SirDavis whiskey brand, continue to solidify her status as a powerhouse in the entertainment and business world.
