Alexandria Whyte from Truro, N.S. has been fighting Nova Scotia Power over her $1,000 bills for her 800-square-foot home, even when she wasn’t home for three months.

Worsdale and dozens of other customers have raised complaints about their unusually high power bills to Nova Scotia Power. Abbott, after seeing his bill increase by $700, is having his meter tested for faults. Whyte, who saw her bill increase by 137% even when she wasn’t home, tried lowering her heat to reduce costs, but ended up with frozen pipes. While Nova Scotia Power couldn’t address individual cases, they encourage customers with concerns to reach out for support and advice.
