In previous incidents, a man was seen behaving erratically near East Cesar Chavez and Nueces Streets in September before going into the water and not resurfacing. He was later pulled out and pronounced dead. In February, a woman’s body was found in the water about 20 feet from the north shore, and in April, a fisherman spotted another person floating in the water. In July, a man was found with blunt force trauma near Rainey Street and was pronounced dead shortly after. In September, a body was discovered on a trail near the lake off Pleasant Valley Road.
