The discovery of another body in Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas, has added to the mystery surrounding the multiple deaths that have occurred in the lake in 2024. At least six additional bodies have been found in the lake throughout the year. The latest body was found on December 1 near the 1st Street Bridge and the 300 block of Cesar Chavez. The Austin Police Department (APD) stated that they do not suspect foul play as the body showed no signs of trauma, but they are continuing to investigate the incident.

Despite the APD’s reassurances, the community is filled with questions and speculation regarding the deaths. Most of the deaths have been attributed to accidental drowning, with many of the deceased being found near nightclubs and bars that are located near the lake. The most recent victim was identified as 73-year-old Thi Lang Nguyen, and police have stated that there is no connection between their death and the other incidents that have occurred in the area this year.

In previous incidents, a man was seen behaving erratically near East Cesar Chavez and Nueces Streets in September before going into the water and not resurfacing. He was later pulled out and pronounced dead. In February, a woman’s body was found in the water about 20 feet from the north shore, and in April, a fisherman spotted another person floating in the water. In July, a man was found with blunt force trauma near Rainey Street and was pronounced dead shortly after. In September, a body was discovered on a trail near the lake off Pleasant Valley Road.

Fox News Digital reached out to the APD for comment on the recent discovery of the body in Lady Bird Lake, but has not yet received a response. The ongoing series of deaths in the lake has sparked concern and fear in the community, with many wondering what could be causing these tragic incidents.
