President-elect Donald Trump has announced his latest U.S. ambassador nominees, including Callista Gingrich, the wife of former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who has been chosen as the U.S. ambassador to Switzerland. Trump cited Gingrich’s previous ambassadorial experience during his first administration, where she worked to advance and defend international religious freedom, combat human trafficking, and provide humanitarian assistance around the world. She graduated with honors from Luther College in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.

In addition to Callista Gingrich, Trump also nominated Mauricio Claver-Carone as a U.S. special envoy for Latin America, emphasizing the need to restore order at the U.S. southern border. Claver-Carone’s appointment is meant to address the chaos and anarchy at the border and protect American interests in the region. Trump highlighted Claver-Carone’s knowledge of the threats posed by illegal mass migration and fentanyl, praising his dedication to working tirelessly to protect the American people.

Ken Howery, who co-founded PayPal and served as a U.S. ambassador to Sweden, has been chosen by Trump as the U.S. ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark. Trump commended Howery’s success in turning American innovation and tech leadership into global success stories, noting that his experience will be invaluable in representing the United States abroad. Trump also mentioned the importance of Greenland to national security and freedom throughout the world, indicating that the ownership and control of Greenland is a necessity for the U.S.

All three ambassador nominees, including Gingrich, Claver-Carone, and Howery, will need to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate before assuming their roles. Trump expressed his confidence in their abilities to represent the United States effectively in their respective countries and fulfill their diplomatic responsibilities. These appointments mark Trump’s continued efforts to shape his administration and advance American interests on the global stage, with a focus on issues such as religious freedom, national security, and technological innovation.

Through these nominations, Trump aims to strengthen diplomatic ties with key allies and address pressing challenges in various regions, including Latin America and Scandinavia. The selection of individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise reflects Trump’s commitment to leveraging American leadership and innovation to address complex global issues. As these nominees prepare to assume their roles, they will play a crucial role in advancing U.S. interests and promoting cooperation with international partners to address shared challenges and opportunities.
