Chynna Phillips and husband Billy Baldwin have recently decided to try out a new living arrangement that involves living separately. In a video uploaded to her YouTube channel, Phillips revealed that she and Baldwin are currently in a new dynamic where they are doing a test run of living in separate homes in Santa Barbara and Beverly Hills. Despite living apart, they still have “date nights”, attend therapy sessions, and have dinner together with their three children. Phillips mentioned that they are not forcing themselves to be together 24/7, but can have sleepovers and spend several days together when they want to.
The couple, who have been married since 1995, shared their decision to live apart on FaceTime call in the video, where they expressed that they still enjoy each other’s company and are madly in love. They joked about being an “allergy to each other” and discussed having “conjugal visits”. Phillips explained in the video’s caption that they are working together to structure a living situation that works for both of them. She also requested her followers to keep praying for Baldwin as he is a bit confused about their decision, which she herself admitted to being confused about as well.
Phillips has been open in the past about the ups and downs of their marriage. In 2010, she filed for divorce but then withdrew the papers stating that she had started to feel disconnected in her marriage and missed her husband. In January, she revealed that her increased interest in religion had created a power struggle between her and Baldwin, leading to a need for both of them to mature and grow. Phillips also mentioned during a YouTube livestream that they had previously separated for six months, although she did not provide a specific timeline for when the separation occurred.
The couple’s decision to live separately is seen as an unconventional one, but Phillips believes they are onto something and questions if distance really does make the heart grow fonder. She expressed that they are still deeply in love and cherish their marriage, but the time apart is beneficial for both of them. Phillips acknowledged that their marriage has its own challenges but is hopeful that this new living arrangement will help them navigate their relationship better and potentially bring them closer together in the long run. Despite the confusion and uncertainties surrounding their decision, Phillips and Baldwin are committed to making it work and continuing to explore new ways to strengthen their marriage.
