Gina Gershon recently reunited with John Travolta for their film High Rollers, after having previously worked together on Face/Off. Gershon had a great experience working with Travolta on Face/Off, where they bonded over their love for music and singing during downtime on set. Despite her character seemingly dying in Face/Off, Gershon is open to returning for a potential sequel, especially if it means working with director John Woo and her former castmates again. She appreciated the collaborative atmosphere created by Woo on set, allowing her to contribute ideas to her role.

In High Rollers, Gershon plays Amelia, the wife of Travolta’s character Mason Goddard, who gets kidnapped in a high-stakes casino heist. Gershon enjoyed portraying a character that required her to be involved in stunt work, as she loves the physicality of performing stunts on screen. While Gershon is known for playing strong women characters, she expressed interest in exploring a different type of role in the future, potentially playing a fragile and meek character trying to survive. High Rollers is a sequel to the 2024 film Cash Out and is now available in theaters, on demand, and digital platforms.

Gershon’s role in Face/Off as Sasha, the ex-girlfriend of terrorist Castor Troy, allowed her to work closely with Nicolas Cage, but she also formed a bond with Travolta behind the scenes. She appreciated being able to offer input on her character to director John Woo, making the experience feel collaborative and creative. Gershon fondly recalls the time spent on set goofing around and singing with Travolta, adding to the positive memories she has of the film.

Even though her character seemingly met her fate in the original Face/Off movie, Gershon is enthusiastic about the idea of returning for a sequel if the opportunity arises. She values the relationships she formed with her former castmates and director, making the prospect of a reunion appealing to her. Gershon’s love for doing stunts on screen stems from her enjoyment of physical challenges and her desire to be more involved in action scenes. She sees playing strong, survivor-type characters as a recurring theme in her career and is open to exploring different character types in the future.

Gershon’s experience working with Travolta on High Rollers stemmed from a suggestion by their shared manager, leading to a seamless reunion on set. Playing Amelia, the kidnapped wife of Travolta’s character, allowed Gershon to showcase her stunt skills and physicality in the film. She would like to continue challenging herself with different character types in the future, potentially exploring roles that differ from the strong women she often portrays. High Rollers is currently available for viewing in various formats, showcasing Gershon’s talent for bringing her characters to life with authenticity and dedication.
