Gal Dalal pleads for assistance as his brother Guy endures hardship under Hamas detainment

Gal Dalal has been advocating for the release of his brother, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, who was kidnapped by Hamas during the 2023 attacks on Israel. Guy was attending the Nova music festival when the attack occurred, and despite efforts from Dalal to protect him, Guy was taken hostage. The Dalal brothers had spoken on the phone one last time before Guy was kidnapped, leaving Dalal feeling helpless and devastated. The family received a sign of life from Guy and another hostage, but it was in the form of a propaganda video showing them being starved and psychologically tormented.

Dalal describes his brother as a warm-hearted and funny man, stating that they shared the same interests and were best friends. On the day of the attack, they were both at the festival when the sirens went off. Dalal suggested they go to his apartment for safety, but Guy decided to stay with his friends. Neither of them could have anticipated the terror that was to come, as Hamas terrorists carried out mass killings at the festival using rocket shelters to target civilians. Guy and his best friend were taken hostage, while their other two friends were killed in the attack.

The Dalal family has been fighting for the release of the hostages, including Guy, for the last 17 months. They are exhausted and on edge, but their main focus remains on seeing Guy again and ensuring his safety. Despite the psychological toll, Dalal remains hopeful that President Donald Trump and the U.S. can help bring the hostages home. He has met with officials from both the Biden and Trump administrations and believes that the U.S. has the power to apply pressure to secure their release.

Recently, Guy and another hostage were forced to partake in a Hamas propaganda video that showed them being psychologically tormented and starved. The video served as a cruel reminder of the horror they endure daily and the urgency of their situation. Dalal fears that negotiations for their release may take too long, and Guy does not have much time left. He continues to advocate for his brother’s release, hoping that the support of President Trump and the U.S. will bring the hostages back home to their families.

Despite the challenges and emotional strain, Dalal remains dedicated to fighting for his brother’s freedom. He believes that Guy’s life is at stake and that time is running out. With the backing of the U.S. administration, Dalal hopes to apply enough pressure to ensure the safe return of all hostages, including Guy. The journey to bring Guy back home has been long and arduous, but Dalal remains determined to see his brother again and hold him in his arms.
