Connections, a word game developed by Wyna Liu, has gained popularity as the second-most played word game by The New York Times, following the success of Wordle. Liu expressed surprise and excitement over the game’s overwhelming response and resonance with players. The objective of Connections is to create four groups of four words based on similar characteristics from a grid of 16 words, each linked to a specific category of varying difficulty levels. Players are encouraged to wait as long as possible before guessing to increase their chances of success.

To play Connections, players must carefully analyze the words in the grid and identify patterns or similarities that can help them form the groups. Each group corresponds to a category color, with yellow being the easiest and purple being the most difficult. Players have the freedom to spend as much time as they need on the game, as there is no time limit, but they are only allowed four chances to win. Correct answers will reveal the words in the corresponding category color and remove them from the grid, while incorrect answers will keep the words in place. A shuffle option is available to help players reorganize the words for a fresh perspective.

For Saturday’s puzzle, Newsweek provided hints to assist players in solving the Connections game. Clues included characteristics such as the ability to predict the future for the yellow category, words describing something extraordinary for the green category, terms associated with praising someone for the blue category, and words linked to an adverb starting with “e” for the purple category. The answers for Saturday’s Connections puzzle were revealed to be clairvoyant, special edition adjectives, “great job!” and extremely, respectively, showcasing the diverse range of categories and words featured in the game.

Whether or not players successfully completed Saturday’s puzzle, a new Connections game will be available for them to try on Sunday. The game is released at midnight in the player’s local time zone, offering a new challenge each day. In addition to Connections, players can explore other word puzzles like Spellspire and Lexigo for additional mental stimulation and entertainment. With engaging gameplay and a variety of clues and hints provided, Connections offers a fun and interactive way to test one’s word skills and logical thinking abilities.
