The highly anticipated sequel to Beetlejuice is set to hit theaters 36 years after the original, starring Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara. This follow-up, titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, is directed by Tim Burton and features a new cast including Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, Willem Dafoe, and Jenna Ortega as Astrid, the teenage daughter of Ryder’s character Lydia Deetz. Returning to Winter River, Connecticut, the film revisits the Deetz family and the mischievous spirit Betelgeuse.

CNET reviewer Aaron Pruner praises the chemistry between the cast, the visual gags, Tim Burton’s signature world-building, and the infusion of horror in the Beetlejuice franchise. For those looking to watch the original 1988 film before diving into the sequel, Beetlejuice is available for streaming on Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service Max. Subscribers can access the movie on-demand at no additional cost in the US. Alternatively, the film can be rented digitally for a small fee on platforms like Amazon and Fandango at Home.

If you don’t have access to a Max account, there are various options available for streaming Beetlejuice. Some subscriptions, like the ad-supported version of Max, are free for DashPass annual plan subscribers and Cricket Wireless customers on specific plans. Max also offers a student discount and bundles with other services like Disney Plus and Hulu. The pricing for Max ranges from $10 to $21 per month depending on the plan chosen, with the ability to pay upfront for an annual subscription.

For those traveling abroad or seeking added privacy while streaming, a VPN can be a helpful tool. By virtually changing your location, you can access content from Max from anywhere in the world. A VPN can also encrypt your traffic to prevent speed throttling by your internet service provider and provide additional security when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks. ExpressVPN is a recommended provider for secure and reliable streaming, with plans starting at $13 per month.

To use a VPN for streaming Beetlejuice, follow the provider’s installation instructions and select a country where the movie is available on Max. Ensure that you are connected to your VPN before opening the streaming app, and verify your network settings to confirm the connection. If issues arise during streaming, troubleshoot by checking your VPN connection, following installation steps correctly, and rebooting your device if necessary. Some streaming services may restrict VPN access, so be aware of potential limitations.
