More than five months after the disappearance of Texas real estate agent Suzanne Simpson in San Antonio, attorneys are still working to unravel the evidence as her husband, Brad Simpson, faces a murder case without her body being found. Brad is accused of causing Suzanne’s death on or about October 6, 2024, after they reportedly had a fight in front of their house. He faces charges of murder, tampering with evidence, aggravated assault, and prohibited weapons possession, with a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday after being delayed in February due to the need for more time to go through discovery.

On the night of Suzanne’s disappearance, the couple attended a party where they were seen having a verbal altercation before leaving with their daughter to go to a grocery store and eventually arriving home. Suzanne later called a family friend to say she was stopping by after alleging Brad had assaulted her, causing injuries to her arm, back, and neck. Witnesses reported seeing Brad and Suzanne arguing and physically struggling in front of their house while a neighbor heard screams coming from a wooded area across the street. Surveillance footage captured Brad’s truck leaving and returning to the area that evening.

The following morning, surveillance footage showed Brad at a grocery store and later at a drive-thru restaurant where he purchased items including trash bags, a trash can, an ice chest, cement, and construction materials. He was also observed washing and cleaning his truck at a car wash. When Suzanne was reported missing, Brad claimed not to have seen her since the previous night. Text messages between Brad and his friend, James Cotter, indicate suspicious communication and actions following Suzanne’s disappearance, leading to Cotter being charged with tampering with evidence and possession of prohibited weapons in connection to the case.

Authorities arrested Brad on October 9, 2024, and Cotter on October 21, 2024, following their investigation which uncovered evidence implicating Brad in Suzanne’s disappearance. A search of Brad’s property revealed a burn site with burnt electronics, stains on his truck that tested positive for blood, and the concealment of a reciprocating saw shortly after Suzanne disappeared, with DNA linking it to her. Brad remains in custody with significant bonds and a federal hold for the weapons charge. The case continues to develop as both the prosecution and the defense work through the evidence and prepare for the court proceedings.

Despite the extensive investigation and evidence uncovered by authorities, Suzanne’s body has yet to be found, leaving unanswered questions about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and suspected death. The details of the case point towards a troubling and potentially violent altercation between Suzanne and Brad on the night of her disappearance, with witnesses reporting physical struggle and screams. The subsequent actions of Brad, including purchasing materials and cleaning his truck, raise further suspicions about his involvement in Suzanne’s disappearance.

The case of Suzanne Simpson’s disappearance and the subsequent murder charges against her husband has captured public attention and scrutiny as details emerge about the events leading up to her disappearance and the actions of those involved in the aftermath. The ongoing legal proceedings and investigation continue to shed light on the complexities of the case and the efforts to seek justice for Suzanne and her family. The absence of her body adds an additional layer of complexity to the case, as authorities rely on forensic evidence and witness testimony to piece together what happened to Suzanne on that fateful night in October 2024.
