As the tenth anniversary of our annual Fintech 50 list approaches, submissions are now being accepted through November 15. This list highlights the top private companies that are revolutionizing the finance industry through technology, from digital banks to cryptocurrency businesses. The rigorous research process involves a team of 10 reporters and editors evaluating hundreds of businesses and ultimately selecting 50 companies to be featured. The list will likely be published in February 2025.

When considering companies for the Fintech 50 list, we look for those making a significant impact on consumers and businesses through innovation. This can include companies that are growing faster than their competitors, regularly releasing new products, or making strategic improvements. We do not solely base our selection on quantitative metrics or require a minimum revenue amount, and there is no cap on business size. While venture-backed startups are often selected, bootstrapped startups are also welcome to apply. Public companies or their subsidiaries are not eligible.

Key criteria considered for each candidate include growth in sales and customers compared to competitors, availability of live or upcoming products, novelty of product and business model, U.S. operations or headquarters, diversity of the leadership team, and alignment with the fintech categories we define. These categories include business-to-business banking, insurance, investing, payments, personal finance, real estate, and Wall Street and enterprise. Blockchain and cryptocurrency companies are also considered for inclusion in the Fintech 50 list.

To apply for the Fintech 50 list, companies are encouraged to complete the application form by the deadline of November 15, 2024. The more information provided about the company’s growth, including revenue over the past two years, the better chance of standing out among competitors. This year’s list promises to showcase the top innovative companies transforming the financial services industry and setting new standards for cost, efficiency, and access.

With the deadline for submissions approaching, fintech companies around the world are gearing up to showcase their impact and growth for a chance to be featured on the prestigious Fintech 50 list. As the finance industry continues to evolve through technology, these companies are at the forefront of innovation, driving change and improving the way financial services are accessed and delivered. Stay tuned for the release of the Fintech 50 list in February 2025, highlighting the top players in the industry and the innovative solutions they bring to the table.
