A Minnesota woman named Jackie Shroyer has been charged with the murder of her husband, Beau Shroyer, while the couple and their five children were missionaries in Angola last year. Beau was found dead in a vehicle in Thienjo, a town in southern Angola in October 2024. Jackie was arrested in November and is accused of forming a murder-for-hire plot after allegedly cheating on her husband. The church the family was affiliated with expressed deep sadness over the situation and urged their community to continue praying for justice and truth to prevail.

The family was sent to Angola by SIM USA, an evangelical Christian organization, in 2021, but tragedy struck when Beau was killed. The organization expressed shock and devastation upon learning that Jackie had been arrested in connection with his death. Both the FBI and State Department were involved in the case, and Jackie is now in custody in Angola awaiting trial. The church stated that the five Shroyer children are being cared for by close family members with support from SIM USA and the church. The circumstances of Beau’s death were revealed by Angolan authorities, who shared that Jackie was having an affair with their security guard and orchestrated the murder plot due to her reluctance to leave Angola.

The murder-for-hire plan involved Jackie offering $50,000 to her husband’s security guard and two others to kill him. The suspects staged car trouble in a remote area, luring Beau to the scene, where they attacked and killed him. The Angolan authorities released images of the suspects outside a police station, as well as evidence recovered from the scene, including a bloodstained SUV, an American-made knife, cash, and a cellphone. The motives for the crime were believed to be centered around the romantic relationship between Jackie and her accomplice, the security guard.

Friends and colleagues of Beau Shroyer expressed shock and grief over his death, describing him as a selfless and compassionate individual. Beau’s transition from a career in real estate to full-time ministry reflected his passion for helping others less fortunate. His commitment to serving his clients and advocating for their needs was noted by those who knew him well. The revelation of his tragic death and the circumstances surrounding it have left many reeling from the loss of a beloved figure in their community.

The case continues to unfold in Angola as Jackie Shroyer awaits trial for the murder of her husband. The church, SIM USA, and law enforcement agencies are working together to ensure justice is served and support Beau’s children in the wake of this tragedy. Jackie’s involvement in the murder has shocked those who knew the couple, as they struggle to come to terms with the loss of a man who dedicated his life to serving others. The details of the case shed light on the dark aspects of human nature and the devastating consequences of betrayal and violence. The legacy of Beau Shroyer as a dedicated missionary and compassionate individual lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
