The latest leaks from Apple insider Sonny Dickson have revealed new photos of the upcoming iPhone 16 models, showcasing key design changes and features of the highly anticipated smartphones. These late-stage dummy samples provide a glimpse of the new hardware features that will be present in the new iPhones set to be launched in early September.

The iPhone 16 Pro models are shown in three colors, including White Titanium, Black Titanium, and Natural Titanium. Additionally, there is speculation about a potential fourth color option for the iPhone 16 Pro, with reports of a bronze color variant. Long-time Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also indicated that the iPhone 16 Pro family will come in four colors, including black, white/silver, grey/natural titanium, and rose.

One of the key design changes for the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max is the updated camera lens layout, which allows for stereoscopic video recording in landscape mode. This feature is geared towards enhancing the user experience with Apple’s Vision Pro spatial video playback system, offering a 3D immersive experience. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models also feature a rearranged lens layout, enabling spatial video recording for the Vision Pro headset.

Another notable addition to the iPhone 16 models is the new capture button located on the spine of the handsets. This feature complements the programmable action button introduced in the previous iPhone 15 Pro models, offering a two-stage shutter button for focus lock before capturing an image. The iPhone 16 lineup will also include the action button, which was absent in the previous year’s models.

While the leaked images provide a glimpse of the hardware changes, the new software bundled with iOS 18 is not visible. Developer previews of iOS 18 are already available, offering a preview of Apple’s plans for generative AI and how it will be integrated into the iPhone. The exact implementation of these features will be clearer with the final software release in conjunction with the iPhone 16 launch.

Traditionally, Apple launches the new iPhone models in September, with this year’s expected launch date set for Tuesday, September 10th. The upcoming iPhone 16 lineup promises exciting new features and design changes that are sure to impress Apple enthusiasts and smartphone users alike. Stay tuned for more updates as the official launch date approaches.
