Google is set to unveil its next generation of Pixel smartphones, the Pixel 9 series, next month. New details suggest that a major upgrade will be the inclusion of an ultrasonic fingerprint reader in all three models (the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL). This upgrade aims to address the issues with the current optical fingerprint sensors, which have been criticized for being unresponsive and inaccurate.

The move to an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor should provide improved responsiveness, accuracy, and security when unlocking the devices. This technology allows for more detailed scanning of fingerprints in 3D, offering better performance in various conditions, including wet displays or fingers. Additionally, Google is also expected to introduce a dual-stack display technology, which will result in a brighter display with longer life and reduced power consumption on the Pixel 9.

In a recent update, it has been revealed that a new pink variant of the Pixel 9 has been spotted in Algeria. The videos show the vanilla Pixel 9 model with a redesigned camera bar that stops short of the edges and features dual lenses along with an LED flash. This design change is reminiscent of last year’s Pixel Fold and is expected to offer improved camera capabilities. The larger Pixel 9 Pro is rumored to include a third lens with x5 telephoto lens for periscope zoom.

Google is scheduled to hold a launch event on August 9th, where it will officially unveil the Pixel 9 series along with the next generation of Google AI technology. This event is highly anticipated by tech enthusiasts and smartphone users eager to see the new features and improvements offered by Google’s latest flagship devices. Stay tuned for more updates and details on the Pixel 9 series as the launch date approaches.
