A 27-year-old man named Oscar Fayani was arrested in Utah after engaging in a dangerous act of road rage where he intentionally hit a Tesla while driving at speeds over 100 mph on Interstate 80. Multiple 911 callers reported that Fayani was driving recklessly and aggressively, weaving through lanes, tailgating, and chasing after the Tesla at speeds up to 120 mph. One witness even had to accelerate to 95 mph to get away from him. The Tesla driver reported that Fayani rammed his car on purpose and continued to pursue him even after he exited the freeway to escape. When the Tesla driver got back on the freeway, Fayani was waiting and attempted to push him off the road again. Fayani was found to be driving on a revoked license and had two active warrants, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and cocaine.

Fayani is facing charges of aggravated assault, reckless driving, driving on a revoked license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two out-of-area warrants. His total bond was set at $910. However, authorities have not confirmed whether the incident was a targeted attack. This incident adds to a broader trend of vandalism and hostility directed at Tesla owners and CEO Elon Musk’s company. Tesla drivers have reported being harassed or blocked at charging stations by gas-powered vehicles in incidents known as “ICEing.” There have also been reports of vandalism incidents at Tesla dealerships across the U.S., including graffiti, firebombing, and damage caused to vehicles and charging stations.

In other incidents across the U.S., Tesla dealerships have faced vandalism, including graffiti that is critical of President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. In Kansas City, a college student was charged after allegedly firebombing a Tesla dealership, causing damage to two Cybertrucks and charging stations. In Loveland, Colorado, a person was arrested for throwing Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership and spray-painting “Nazi cars” and obscenities directed at Elon Musk, resulting in approximately $220,000 in damages. Similar incidents have been reported in California, Texas, and New York, often involving politically charged graffiti and acts of vandalism.

The incident in Utah involving Oscar Fayani and the Tesla driver is another example of road rage escalating to dangerous levels. Despite the ongoing trend of vandalism and hostility towards Tesla owners and the company, authorities have not confirmed whether this particular incident was targeted. The situation highlights the importance of road safety and the potential consequences of dangerous driving behavior. It also underscores the need to address acts of vandalism and hostility towards Tesla owners and their vehicles. Tesla drivers should remain vigilant and report any incidents of harassment or vandalism to the authorities.
