Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set to premiere on Paramount Plus, joining its predecessors on the platform. The film follows Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the Knuckles Paramount Plus series, with Keanu Reeves voicing the new character Shadow, who serves as an adversary for Knuckles, Tails, and Sonic. The movie, which is a PG-rated action comedy, was released in theaters in December and has received positive reviews, currently holding an 85% score on Rotten Tomatoes. A fourth Sonic the Hedgehog movie is expected to be released in 2027.
For viewers in the US and Canada, Sonic 3 will premiere on Paramount Plus on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The availability of the movie in additional international markets on Paramount Plus will be announced at a later date. Paramount Plus offers two subscription options: Essential with ads for $8 per month or $60 per year, and Paramount Plus with Showtime for $13 per month or $120 per year. Additionally, Sonic 3 can be rented for $10 on platforms like Amazon and Fandango at Home. The Showtime plan on Paramount Plus allows for an ad-free experience and the ability to download titles.
Both versions of Paramount Plus allow viewers to watch Sonic 3, but opting for the Showtime plan removes commercials from the streaming experience (except for live TV) and enables the download of titles. New subscribers can try the service for free for a week, while college students are eligible for a discount on the Essential plan. Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s release on Paramount Plus offers a convenient way for fans to catch the latest installment in the franchise, providing flexibility in viewing options and access to additional content on the platform.
