In response to the scarcity of public transport in popular tourist destinations, Uber has launched new boat options to provide users with access to more places off the beaten track. These boats are being rolled out in some of Europe’s most popular tourist getaways, offering tourists a unique and luxurious way to explore iconic sights. In Paris, Uber Cruise will offer a free one-hour trip on the Seine River from 12 July to 3 August, allowing guests to enjoy views of landmarks like the Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower while sipping on complimentary wine.

Venice, known for its picturesque canals, has restricted cruise ships due to overtourism, making water vessels one of the only ways to get around the city. Uber has introduced ‘Limo Boat’ services in Venice starting from July, allowing visitors to summon a boat through the Uber app for a relatively affordable price of €120 per trip. With almost 200 pick-up and drop-off points across the city, tourists can explore the Venetian Lagoon between 8am and 8pm daily, providing a convenient and scenic mode of transportation.

Uber Boat, first launched in Mykonos last summer, is making a return to the iconic party island and expanding to other destinations in Greece this season. The Uber app will have a boat option available in Athens, Corfu, and Santorini from July, allowing visitors to access hard-to-reach beaches and tavernas by water. Prices vary by location, with minimum fares starting from €200 per boat and operating hours between 9am and 9pm, providing a convenient way to explore the Greek islands without the hassle of navigating self-drive boats.

In Ibiza, known as the party capital of Europe, Uber is offering a luxurious yacht experience for up to eight people with a personal skipper, complimentary champagne, and artisan snacks. The Uber yacht departs from Ibiza Town every day at 12pm, priced at €1,600 for an eight-hour trip on a Sunseeker Yacht. Guests can plan their own route, taking in iconic views such as watching the sunset at Es Vedra or snorkelling at the nearby island of Formentera. Transfers are included from hotels and residences to the jetty, providing a VIP experience for tourists looking to explore Ibiza in style.

Despite the luxury and convenience offered by Uber’s new boat options, availability is expected to be limited and subject to weather conditions, especially with the unpredictable nature of European weather. However, these new services provide a unique and exciting way for tourists to explore popular destinations like Paris, Venice, Mykonos, and Ibiza in a more intimate and exclusive manner, offering a memorable travel experience for those seeking to discover hidden gems and iconic sights alike. Whether cruising along the Seine River in Paris or exploring the Venetian Lagoon in Venice, Uber’s boat options provide an alternative mode of transportation that combines luxury, convenience, and adventure in some of Europe’s most sought-after holiday destinations.
