Retired U.S. Army Sergeant Joshua Hargis, a decorated Army Ranger and K9 handler who sustained severe injuries during his final deployment in Afghanistan, recently received a mortgage-free custom home in Nashville, Tennessee, thanks to the generosity of LP Building Solutions and the Gary Sinise Foundation. The Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program, in partnership with LP Building Solutions, donated the Hargis family’s forever home, which was customized to meet their specific needs. LP Building Solutions has been a partner of the Gary Sinise Foundation since 2022 and has donated eight homes to veterans in need so far.

LP Vice President of Specialty Sales & Marketing Craig Sichling shared that LP Building Solutions was proud to partner with the Gary Sinise Foundation in donating a home to the Hargis family. They were able to provide the family with a forever home designed to meet Sergeant Hargis’ special needs as a double amputee, and the house was turned over mortgage-free. This experience was described as powerful and moving, and LP Building Solutions is proud to support veterans like Hargis who have sacrificed for their country. Hargis and his team were drawn into an area filled with buried IEDs and faced catastrophic injuries, including the loss of his K9 companion and the death of four team members. LP Building Solutions’ partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation allows them to support veterans like Hargis who have sacrificed so much in service of their country.

LP Building Solutions’ partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation not only provides custom homes for veterans in need but also contributes to addressing the shortage of housing in America. Approximately 7% of the population are veterans, yet they make up about 13% of the homeless population according to data from the VA. LP Building Solutions sees their partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation as an opportunity to support veterans in need of housing, especially those who have returned wounded, while also working towards building a better world and promoting sustainability in America.
