Angry Democrats Demand Biden’s Handlers Keep Former President Out of Public Eye

According to a report from “The Hill,” Democratic figures, as well as aides of the former first family, are urging former President Biden to stay out of politics to avoid further damaging the party. The former first lady Jill Biden’s communications director, Michael LaRosa, expressed the sentiment that Biden’s staff should steer him away from the spotlight as the party is not interested in seeing him involved in politics. LaRosa emphasized that advisors need to understand the existing anger and indifference towards the Bidens within the Democratic Party.

Following Biden’s speech at a disability advocacy conference in Chicago, where he discussed the state of the Social Security Administration, LaRosa spoke to “The Hill” about the party’s lack of enthusiasm for Biden’s return to the public eye. The speech marked Biden’s first major address since leaving the White House in January and included criticisms of the Trump administration for causing damage and destruction in a short time frame. LaRosa expressed that Biden’s handlers should acknowledge the lack of welcome for the former president within the party.

LaRosa pointed out that Biden’s return to the public sphere has been seen as a gift to the Trump administration and conservatives, who have capitalized on the unpopular ex-president’s appearance as a distraction. With only 36 percent of Americans approving of Biden’s job as president weeks before leaving office, and 61 percent viewing his presidency as a failure, there is a clear indication of his lack of popularity among the general public and within the Democratic Party.

The recently-published book “Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House” co-authored by Amie Parnes delves into the chaotic 2024 Democratic campaign, featuring insights from individuals close to Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Barack Obama. An excerpt from the book suggests that Biden may have sabotaged Harris’ campaign by controlling her policy points, fearing that she may distance herself from him publically. This lack of deviation from Biden’s policy is believed to have damaged Harris’ own chances.

LaRosa emphasized the need for the Bidens and their handlers to recognize the reality of their situation and make decisions accordingly. He described the end of Biden’s political career as heartbreaking and tragic, urging both the Bidens and their staff to consider the political landscape when determining their next steps. As the party expresses its displeasure with Biden’s return to the public eye, it is essential for all involved to understand the potential consequences of his continued involvement in politics.
