A Florida man named Glen DeCicco was arrested for allegedly making threats on social media to kill President Donald Trump. The Jupiter Police Department charged him with making written threats to kill after launching an investigation into his comments on social media targeting Trump. The police department worked with the U.S. Secret Service during the investigation. DeCicco was interviewed by police and the Secret Service without incident. The Secret Service thanked the Jupiter Police Department for their quick response and encouraged the public to report suspicious activity.

This incident was not the first of its kind in Florida. Shannon Depararro Atkins of West Palm Beach was also charged in January for making violent threats against Trump on Facebook. In July, Michael M. Wiseman was arrested by Jupiter Police for written threats to kill Trump and now-Vice President JD Vance after making threatening posts on Facebook. Trump has survived two assassination attempts, one in July and one in September. The seriousness of threats against the President and all Secret Service protectees is emphasized by the authorities, who ask the public to report any suspicious activity to the police.

The investigation into DeCicco’s threatening social media posts began after the Jupiter Police Department was alerted to a concerning Facebook post. Detectives reviewed DeCicco’s social media activity and confirmed that he had made written threats directed at the President. The Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi expressed appreciation for the Jupiter Police Department’s quick response and collaboration during the investigation. The cooperation between local law enforcement and federal agencies is crucial in cases involving threats against high-profile individuals like the President.
