Parents are divided over the controversial ‘Coachella’ mini skirt for kids sold at Target: Some say ‘That’s crazy’

Kids’ clothing has become increasingly trendy, with many parents wishing to purchase stylish pieces not only for their children but for themselves as well. However, there is a fine line between trendy and inappropriate, and this line is often difficult to pinpoint.

An Australian mother took to TikTok to address her concerns over a mini skirt in Target’s Easter range. The Faux Feather Sequin Skirt, priced at $25, was described by the mother as being the size of her hand in a size 1. She questioned the necessity of baby clothing being designed in a way that resembles adult festival attire.

Many people supported the mother’s stance, agreeing that the skirt seemed more suited for an adult at a festival rather than a toddler. Some commented that the skirt was inappropriate for children and should have been designed as shorts with more coverage. However, others argued that the skirt appeared shorter on the rack than it actually was when worn by a child, especially when paired with tights and boots.

Despite the backlash, several people defended the skirt, mentioning that it would likely appear longer on a toddler due to their smaller size. Some parents stated that the skirt reached their child’s knees, showing that it provided enough coverage. Ultimately, the debate surrounding this skirt and similar trendy kids’ clothing items showcases the ongoing dilemma of finding a balance between stylish designs and age-appropriate attire for children.
