Soros-Linked Organization Charged with ‘Infiltrating’ Vital House Race by Selecting Candidate Amid Tesla Turmoil

The progressive group Indivisible, which has been pivotal in mobilizing protests against Tesla and similar causes, is now focusing its efforts on the forthcoming congressional midterm elections, specifically targeting Republican Representative Mike Lawler from New York’s 17th District. With the 2026 primaries underway, Indivisible is promoting Beth Davidson, a progressive Democrat and Rockland County legislator, who has strong ties to the group. Davidson has actively shared her participation in Indivisible events and has been involved in organizing local protests aimed at Lawler’s town hall events to rally resistance against Trump’s policies.

The protests organized by local chapters of Indivisible have garnered attention, with plans for large-scale demonstrations. Leaders in Rockland have declared their intentions to fill the streets outside Lawler’s events, showcasing a determined effort to garner visibility and convey a message of opposition. Davidson, enthusiastic about the show of force, has publicly communicated plans for significant turnout at these gatherings, emphasizing both the urgency of their cause and dissatisfaction with Lawler’s perceived inaction on critical issues like healthcare and social security.

Lawler’s campaign team has responded critically to Davidson’s association with Indivisible, accusing the organization of an insidious attempt to infiltrate congressional races to undermine Trump’s agenda. The National Republican Congressional Committee has characterized Davidson as a “far-left extremist” aligned with a group notorious for using aggressive tactics to challenge the GOP platform. Indivisible, established in reaction to Trump’s election, positions itself as a grassroots movement dedicated to resisting conservative policies and mobilizing progressive agendas.

Indivisible’s controversial history includes involvement in protests that have been linked to violence, and critics have pointed to the group’s political strategies as aggressive. The group has faced scrutiny for its financial backing, including reported support of over $7 million from the George Soros network since 2017 and its advocacy for unfavored policies like defunding the police. Despite its tumultuous history, Indivisible seeks to leverage its grassroots network to support candidates like Davidson who promise to champion progressive causes, particularly in swing districts.

Davidson has faced backlash regarding her association with Indivisible, especially concerning incidents of antisemitism linked to some protests. In an effort to distance herself from any negative connotations, Davidson condemned any anti-Semitic imagery observed at rallies but also expressed frustration at Lawler’s use of such issues for political gain. Her denunciation, however, was received with skepticism by Lawler’s camp, who argued it lacked the necessary gravity and clarity needed to reject the negativity entirely.

As the race for New York’s 17th District heats up, it has garnered national attention with wider implications for the balance of power in Congress. With Davidson backed by prominent progressives, including former Congressman Mondaire Jones, the contest is poised to become one of the most closely monitored as Republicans strive to maintain their slim majority. Analysts have indicated that the race leans Republican, yet the mobilization of Indivisible and other grassroots efforts could significantly impact the electoral stakes as both parties prepare for a contentious fight heading into the midterm elections.
