Looking for the best internet provider in Florida? The top choice is AT&T Fiber, offering affordable plans starting at $55 with fast speeds, although it may not be available everywhere in the state. Other solid options include Xfinity, Spectrum, and Frontier, catering to different areas with varying speed and affordability. For rural locations, DSL, satellite, 5G home internet or fixed wireless providers may be the best options based on coverage and speed requirements. Satellite internet can be a good option for remote areas, while DSL from providers like AT&T Internet or CenturyLink may offer faster and more affordable options for rural homes.

In terms of rural internet options in Florida, DSL from providers like CenturyLink, Kinetic by Windstream, and Mediacom offer a range of speeds and prices. Fixed wireless providers like Open Broadband and Rapid Systems also cater to underserved areas, offering plans starting at $50 for various speeds. Government investments and grants are set to expand internet options in rural areas, with Comcast’s plans to extend its 10G network to 25 rural areas in the state by June 2023. Residents can use the FCC’s National Broadband Map to check which ISPs service their location and discover local providers they may not have been aware of.

Fiber internet, known for its reliability and high speeds, has not reached 100% coverage in Florida, with around 92.8% of residences having access to speeds up to 250Mbps. AT&T Fiber, CenturyLink Quantum Fiber, and Frontier Fiber are some of the major players in the fiber internet market in Florida. Fixed broadband speeds in the state rank highly, with over 90% of homes having access to speeds of at least 250Mbps. However, the availability of speeds of over 1,000Mbps drops to under 50%, with major metro areas like Jacksonville, Tampa, and Miami enjoying the fastest connections.
