Adrien Brody won his second Best Actor Oscar earlier this year for his role as a Holocaust survivor in The Brutalist, following his win in 2003 for The Pianist. The film was a modest success at the box office, earning $49.3 million worldwide and being a Best Picture contender at the Oscars. However, it did not reach as large of an audience as it deserved. The streaming premiere of The Brutalist on Max is expected to introduce the film to a wider audience and potentially increase its popularity.

The Brutalist will be available for streaming on Max starting on Friday, May 16, with HBO also airing a broadcast of the film the next day on Saturday, May 17. The premium cable channel will continue to show repeat screenings of The Brutalist throughout the month of May. The film tells the story of László Toth, a Jewish architect who fled Europe during the Nazi regime and was separated from his wife. When offered the chance to reclaim his legacy by a wealthy industrialist, László must navigate a difficult situation with his domineering boss, played by Guy Pearce.

In addition to Adrien Brody and Guy Pearce, The Brutalist features a strong supporting cast including Felicity Jones, Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, and Stacy Martin. The film was directed by Brady Corbet and co-written by Mona Fastvold. The score for The Brutalist was composed by Daniel Blumberg, who won an Oscar for his work, and cinematographer Lol Crawley was also an Academy Award winner. With a talented team both in front of and behind the camera, The Brutalist promises to be a compelling and visually stunning film that will resonate with audiences.

The story of The Brutalist follows the journey of László Toth as he navigates the challenges of rebuilding his life after fleeing Europe during World War II. Facing oppression and abuse from his employer, László must confront difficult choices as he fights to reclaim his place in the world as an architect. The film explores themes of resilience, sacrifice, and the enduring human spirit in the face of adversity.

The release of The Brutalist on streaming platforms like Max provides a valuable opportunity for audiences to discover and appreciate the film, which may have been overlooked during its initial theatrical release. With the talent of Adrien Brody leading the cast, combined with the creative vision of director Brady Corbet and the innovative storytelling of the writing team, The Brutalist offers a thought-provoking and emotionally impactful viewing experience. Viewers can look forward to engaging with a compelling narrative, rich visual aesthetics, and powerful performances that bring the story of László Toth to life on screen.
